The Sign-Rite Weblog

24 March, 2006
Another week passes and I'm getting ready to send out the latest newsletter by snail mail - publicising our web - as there is no point in setting it up if no-one goes there! Then I'll send it out electronically. And, at the same time, the newsletter is providing information on the new noise legislation ... has anyone even heard of it? It has implications for the health and safety of workers and visitors to businesses, but it is hardly a sexy subject, is it? Never mind, you can get posters and guides, ear defenders and noise-activated signs from Sign-Rite and then get on with your own job.
Darcy, our work experience girl, has scuttled back to school to her "real" life. It was nice having some more female company in our male environment, but it is hard work being a 'teacher' as you do your job. (Try it all day, I hear the teachers cry - I just hope they enjoyed their two week break while we had their charges!) Interestingly, the only negative comment she made in her log book was that she didn't take too well to "being expected to do heavy jobs" - by this she meant taking out the bins ... filling a skip... unwrapping big parcels. Sigh! The youth of today! But I can't be too picky as our own son was taken by a local computer company, and I can only hope that he was more of a help than a hindrance, as we didn't get much feedback.
