Blogs! I haven't been overwhelmed by the numbers of people responding to our web offers and blogs, which put me off adding up-dates! But then a friend from 20 years ago found us and read our news ... and that has given me new heart to keep our news "out there".
Lots of new plans are in the pipe-line - most excitingly a move for Sign-Rite from the peace of our countryside workshop to the (hopefully) hustle and bustle of a new Enterprise Park at Leominster. Much as we love to work in our village surroundings - at the end of a mile-long chestnut avenue - our customers need to find us more easily and we need more space. The first building is just going up and we may just be the first new business going live ... watch this space.
The new plans have needed the whole family involved, as it will mean a life-style change - but the principal reaction seems to be positive as they will be able to walk from the new premises to the shops and the town swimming pool! (How country children suffer!!)
A footnote to our "NOISES AT WORK" legislation information: as I said, interest in this subject seems rather lack-lustre and then - on the front page of the Hereford Times - comes the story that a local poultry-auctioneer (yes, we have such a thing) has been investigated because of the volume of his auctioneering! So, just goes to show you SHOULD pay attention to boring government information! NB Are chickens covered by the legislation?
Finally, a raspberry to Hereford Council who are being "jobs worth" about charity signs beside the road. There seems to be a campaign to remove these ads - never up for long and always for a local fete, church fund-raiser or village event - and we - as a company which donates the free publicity to these good causes - have been threatened with a £100 fine if we provide them. We have done some tiny signs for Docklow Fete - which is being held at the home of Independent-writer and world-travelling sports interviewer Brian Viner - so, council jobs-worths, nick those signs and you could find yourself the subject of national ridicule!
